Happenings

Just realized my last post was in June. Can't belive its been almost a month since I last posted. Justin got home from the Dominican Republic an hour late, so we got to spend some extra time at the airport with all the other family members waiting on kids.  The group had a wonderful time and was able to share the gospel with many of the native people. One of our teens was even able to read a Bible story to the kids in Spanish. I know each one was touched by God and the people of the Dominican while they were there.

We survived without daddy pretty well. I would happily go through it again if it was God's will. Once Titus saw Justin at the airport he started running towards him. I think he realized he hadn't had daddy all week. Titus had the biggest smile on his face, of course so did I!!!!

July has been a busy month. My youngest sister was married to a wonderful man on the 17th. We have been busy getting things ready and working on all the little things that needed done before the big day. My brother and sister-in-law drove down from Maine for the wedding so it was great to see them, even if it was only a couple days. I was glad they were able to spend time with Titus, he seemed to like them pretty good. :)

As for the wedding day, it was beautiful. The wedding took place outside and it was a little warm, but we did have a breeze to help cool us off once in a while. My sister was such a beautiful bride. It is so amazing how God can bring 2 people together. My family grew up 1 mile from the grooms family and we have known them since they were born. They always seemed more like cousins than neighbors. Dan fits into our family perfectly and is a perfect match for Kelly. I know God has placed them together.

Last Day

Sitting here waiting for the time to turn so I can head to pick Justin up at the airport. I have talked to him about 2 minutes total, but I did hear from him. Of course on the last leg of the trip the plane is delayed.

I am ready to see him and know that he is home. I know that it has been a good week for them in the Dominican and God used them many ways. I know its hard to come back from a missions trip, sometimes. But we are ready to have him home and get to spend time with him.

They should be in by 8:30. Titus has done well this week with out his dad. I know he will be glad to see him.

Week Without Daddy--Day 4

I know I missed yesterday, but there wasn't much going on. This week has gone fast at some times and slow at others. Yesterday was slow. I didn't do anything or go anywhere, so I got bored, then I got depressed and sad. So last night when Titus went with Grandma to church I decided to go to camp meeting. I didn't really want to, but I wanted to see a friend, so I went. Very glad I did!!!

The message was good, not a gospel message, but a good moral message. I realized I had been giving myself a pitty party and needed to focus on God while Justin is gone. I had been focusing on how much I missed him and how hard it was without him. It really isn't that hard and I know I can do this, with God's help anyway. I was relying on my own self to do everything & not miss him so much.

I got back last night & was able to talk to Justin on facebook for about 1/2, that was the best thing in the world. I knew I would get through then next couple days.

I will be leaving for home early tomorrow morning so that I can get there before the a/c guys do. Hopefully they will get it fixed so that we can have a/c again!!! I know it has been warm at home and I know that it is HOT in our house. Looking forward to being home and sleeping in my own bed. I know Titus will be glad to be in his own bed too.

Today I went out with my mom-in-law, bro-in-law & Titus for lunch. Had a good time with them & enjoyed their company. Thinking about going to the College Night tonight @ camp meeting, but not for sure yet. I still have a lot to do so I can leave early.

Our week without Daddy--Day 2

This week Justin is on a Missions trip with the youth from our church. They left yesterday morning and have only been gone 2 days, but it seems like 10.  Justin worked a 24 hr shift on Sunday, so I haven't really seen him since Saturday night.

I am missing him pretty good. I can go 48 hrs, but this evening has been rough. I at least get an email from him once a day so I know he is doing well.  I know he is having a good time, but I can't help like feeling I'm missing out on something special.   I can't wait to hear all the stories and see pictures from their trip.

Titus and I have been staying with Justin's parents and he is enjoying time with his "poppop". They don't get too see Titus often so it is nice to spend some extra time with them.  While we are here I get to see some friends that I don't see much either, which is a good thing.

I only have 4 more days left!!!!!
